Long-form YouTube Videos
Can I use your music on YouTube for free?
Yes, you are welcome to use my music in your personal, non-commercial videos for free. Please note that when you use the music for free, you will likely receive a "Copyright Claim" from the Content ID system. This is a standard process that allows the artist to protect their work while still allowing you to use it.
I received a "Copyright Claim". Is my channel in danger?
Absolutely not. A copyright claim is not a strike. It is an automated notification. A claim does not hurt your channel, does not limit your views, and will not cause your video to be deleted. Your channel remains in good standing.
What are my options if my video receives a claim?
You have two simple paths:
- Option 1 (Free Use): You can leave the claim as it is. Your video stays live and accessible to everyone, but the ad revenue will go to the artist.
- Option 2 (License): You can purchase a license to remove the claim. This allows you to monetize the video yourself and keep 100% of the revenue.
Why should I buy a license if I can use the music for free?
While free use is great for hobbyists, a professional license is the best choice for serious creators and businesses. By purchasing a license, you get:
- Full Monetization: You keep all the ad revenue from your video.
- Official Permission: You receive a legal PDF certificate that proves you have the right to use the music.
- Professional Status: Brands and sponsors prefer working with channels that own the rights to their content.
- Direct Support: You directly support my work as an independent artist, allowing me to create more music for you.
Can I monetize my videos while using the music for free?
No. If you use the music for free, the ad revenue generated by that video is collected by the music rights holder. To enable monetization and earn money from your content, a valid license is required.
Is it possible to clear a claim without a license?
No. To clear a legitimate claim and authorize your video for monetization, you must provide proof of a license. The only way to remove a claim and keep the revenue is to dispute the claim using your official License Code.

How do I actually remove a claim once I have a license?
It’s a very fast process. You need to "Dispute" the claim in your YouTube Studio and paste your License Code in the explanation box. For a step-by-step guide on how to do this in 2 minutes, visit our Claim Clearance Page.
What is the main benefit of a "Commercial License"?
A Commercial License gives you total peace of mind. It ensures that your high-budget projects, sponsored videos, and brand collaborations are 100% legally safe. It’s an investment in your channel's future and professional reputation.
YouTube Shorts
Can I use your music for YouTube Shorts?
Yes, you can use all my musical tracks in your YouTube Shorts for free.
Please note that the maximum length for a Short on YouTube is 60 seconds, according to the platform's rules. To avoid potential copyright issues, I recommend adding the music directly from the YouTube audio library within the app.
Alternatively, you can download the MP3 from my website and add it to your video; as long as the video is under 60 seconds, you should not receive a copyright claim.
What if I want to use the music for more than 60 seconds?
If your video exceeds the time limits mentioned above (60 seconds for YouTube), it may be flagged as a long-form video. In this case, you will need to purchase an Official License to avoid copyright claims and ensure your video remains monetized and protected worldwide.
What should I do if my YouTube Short receives a copyright claim?
In some cases, the system may place a claim on a Short. If this happens, or if the music is blocked in certain regions, you should purchase a license. Once you have a license, you can dispute the claim to restore full access and ensure your Short is cleared for worldwide viewing and potential revenue sharing.
