How DTG, DTF, Sublimation printing and embroidery works?
Here we will briefly explain the printing of our designs. So that it is clear what technology was used in a particular design.
What is DTG Printing and How Does it Work?
- Printing technique where ink is sprayed onto garments, much like printing on paper.
- Printed using non-toxic vegan inks that ensure the garments are safe for adults and children.
- Printed designs soak into the clothing fibers.
- Don’t sit on top of the fabric. Remain uncracked over time. Aren’t stiff and feel comfortable to wear.
- We use this method on T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, pants, bags, and more.
What is DTF Printing and How Does it Work?
- Direct-to-film prints are durable and don’t fade with use.
- The design is directly printed onto a special film using water-based inks.
- The film is then coated with a special adhesive powder and a heat press is used to transfer the design onto the fabric.
- Designs looking fresh even with heavy wash and wear.
- In fact, the print might feel slightly stiff at first but will wear in after a few washes.
- The ink doesn’t soak into the fabric but is pressed on top of the fabric with heat and a special adhesive powder, as a result, the printed designs are resistant to cracking and can handle heavy use and cold to lukewarm washes. However, if garments are washed in very hot water there’s a chance the design may develop small cracks.
- We recommend ironing garments inside out as ironing the print might change its color. For example, white design elements could turn yellow.
- We use this method on T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, and more.
What is Sublimation Printing and How Does it Work?
- Sublimation printing is a digital printing process that uses heat, pressure, and time to transfer dye onto different materials.
- Here’s the full process: We print a design onto special transfer paper using sublimation inks. Then, we place the printed paper onto a product and heat it with a heat press. The heat, pressure, and time turns the inks into a gas, and the material absorbs them. As a result, you get a permanent, vibrant print that won’t fade or crack over time.
- Note that sublimation only works on 100% polyester or fabric blends that contain a high percentage of polyester. The less polyester in the fabric, the more faded the prints.
- An important thing to note about dye sublimation is that the ink isn’t just applied on top of the material. Instead, it sinks in, becoming an integral part of it. That’s why a sublimation print won’t fade or wash off, lasting much longer than a DTG print.
- We use this method on T-shirts, shorts, bags, mugs, and more.
- The final benefit of sublimation printing is that it’s a relatively eco-friendly printing process. Unlike traditional printing methods that use water-based inks and solvents, sublimation printing uses dry inks. The dry inks are infused into the material while being printed, resulting in minimal waste and reduced environmental impact. In addition, it reduces the amount of wasted ink by only applying it to the areas needed.
What is Embroidery and How Does it Work?
- Embroidery is a handicraft using a needle and thread to decorate fabric.
- We use machine embroidery.
- The embroidery process always comes down to three main stages: 1) We digitize the design or transfer it to the fabric using a stencil so that it is clear where each stitch should be placed. 2) Then tightly fasten the fabric in a hoop or frame. Add a lining to keep the stitches on the elastic products clear. Choose a tear-off lining for knitwear and a tear-off lining for fabrics - the right stabilizer prevents the fabric from wrinkling even before it appears. 3) Next, fix the thread by hand or on a machine, cut off the ends and iron to make your intricate patterns more expressive. A quick steam press softens the fibers, allowing the flowers to bloom and giving the product a flawless, ready-to-wear look.
- Computerized sewing machines, equipped with up to 15 needles, easily cope with complex patterns that would be hand-embroidered with a cross stitch or tambour stitch for several days. Our equipment allows you to embroider products such as hoodies, sweatshirts, pants, shorts, hats and bags, making it a great solution for time-savers.
We hope you understand what the differences between printing are. Now you can choose the right technology for your next order. We've added a filter with a choice of printing technology to make it easier for you to find the product you're looking for.
